I just wanted to share with everyone something that happened yesterday!! Tori invited me to go along on a visit with her. There was a lady in the church that has been sick with malaria for close to 3 weeks. She just wanted to stop in and say that we missed her and that we were praying for her.
To give a little background, she lives in the Chipata compound. Its right near by but much different than where I am staying. These compounds have no water or electricity. I am not positive on this number but there are close to 10,000 people living there. To live there you basically just go find some land and start building and you maybe pay $10 a month! And you can't drive there... so you get the picture sort of...
We parked the car as close as we could and had someone show us where she lived. When we got there we were glad to see that she was up and doing the laundry, because it meant that she was feeling a bit better. We went inside and began to ask about how she was feeling. Then Tori asked her to share her salvation testimony and how she came to Faith Baptist. She quickly told us about how she had found out about Faith but totally ignored the question about salvation. Tori then asked her if she were to die next week where would she go? She couldn't answer and said that was a really hard question! So Tori then was able to share the gospel with her. Then Karen, a Zambian who had come with us, also tried explaining so she could understand more clearly. After awhile it became clear that she was having a hard time speaking in English so Karen started talking to her in Bemba. After about an hour or so she said that she wanted to accept Christ as her Saviour!!! It was Awesome!!!!!! So if you could please pray for Dorothy as she is a brand new child of God. Also if you could pray for her homelife, it is a little rough right now!!
I thought you would all like to hear that!! It sure made my day!! What an awesome God we serve!!
