Frog...

The other night, Isabi, my cat, decided to bring a frog in the house. It is the first time he has ever done that. And usually when he catches things he eats them… so I just assumed he would eat the frog. The frog looked dead to me, it was on its back, and it wasn’t moving… and since Isabi wouldn’t eat it, I decided to get the broom and sweep it out… well it wasn’t dead… it jumped, and so did I, plus I think I screamed a little too! Then it jumped behind the couch. I don’t really like frogs so I wasn’t really fond of the idea of catching the frog… so I got the caretaker to come in and take it out for me. He told me that if Isabi would have eaten it, he probably would have gotten really sick because this particular frog is poisonous if you eat it!!!

Kafue River

On Saturday Cherith, Grandma Hunt, Emily, Mwaba and I went to the Kafue River. Mwaba is a young adult here at Faith and she was willing to take us down to see the river and cross on the boats. We got there and already people were giving us a hard time for having our cameras so we tried to be discreet in taking pictures. We didn't want to offend anyone. Once we got to the river Grandma and Emily were a little nervous to cross because there are some crocidiles and hippos in the river. However, I really wanted to see a hippo or crocidile and thats part of the reason i went!! I thought that would be awesome!! so eventually we talked them into crossing. Once we were on the other side, there really wasn't much to see so we turned around and came right back!! It was a fun little adventure!!

This is one of the roads we took to get to the river... i was a little nervous that i would slip and fall right in... but i didn't thankfully!!

This is the road coming up from the river...

Crossing the river...

Grandma Hunt and Emily Hafler... (Emily was a little nervous about the crocidiles, so i assured her i was a lifeguard and would save her!! then i told her after that i wasn't such a great lifeguard. =)

Answer to Prayer

Happy New Year!!

I just wanted to write and let everyone know that my work permit was finally approved!!! It is so cool to see God answer prayer! I was never really worried about getting it, but i was just wondering when. But God's timing is always perfect and for that I am so grateful. I will travel to Lusaka on Monday to pick it up!! Thank you to all of you who have been praying for this!!

The library is finally getting started. I am so thankful for Phil Hunts mom who is here visiting but has volunteered her time to catalog all the books for me. It is a huge answer to prayer for me because she is not only going to help me catalog them but she is also going to show me how to assign the Dewey decimal number. It was something that was completely overwhelming to me and i wasn't sure even how to start. But she came and has worked in a library before and has been so gracious to help me!! Just a couple weeks ago we started cataloging the books and as of yesterday started putting them into our software program. Its such a relief to me. We still have a very long way to go, there are over 5,000 books and we only have around 1,000 cataloged so far. But it is a start!!

Our semester is starting a month from now on February 12th. We will start with a block class for that first week and then the following week regular classes will start. Yesterday I worked with the vice president and we were able to send out a lot of acceptance letters. We are thrilled to have more students coming from Kenya! Please pray for them as they have to get their student visas and raise the needed money to attend the school. I am still working on getting all the records and systems set up. At times i feel very overwhelmed by it, but God is faithful and grants me wisdom for which i am so grateful!!

Thank you so much for all your prayers!!
