brushing my teeth

This picture looks innocent enough, but there is quite a story behind it! Sunday morning i went to brush my teeth before church. I put my toothbrush under the tap and turned the water on. However, a frog happened to be in the tap and so when i turned the water on he came flying out and landed on my TOOTHBRUSH!! So naturally i screamed and threw my toothbrush! My heart was beating so fast and i couldn't stop laughing... but sadly no one was there to laugh with me!! Thankfully i had an extra toothbrush and i was still able to brush my teeth, but now i am a little leary of using my bathroom sink!! =)

my most recent prayer letter

God has been so faithful to me here and has been teaching me and growing me so much! At the end of February I was able to go to Kakolo to visit Helen who lives out at Faith Children’s Village. During rainy season the road to the village is very muddy and hard to manage, but thankfully there had been no heavy rain before I came so we were able to pass ok. Helen runs a clinic at the village and we were able to help pack some medicines and also come and see how the clinic runs. It was an awesome opportunity to see what she does every week. We were also able to attend teens Bible study and Church at Faith Baptist Church Kakolo.

Our first term of Central Africa Baptist College is coming to a close on June 15th. This year we currently have 15 students and are encouraged that more are interested in attending next term. God has brought many men here who love the Lord and desire to serve Him. There is also a young lady who is new this term. I count it such a privilege to be a part of this ministry here. Please continue to pray for our new building. A couple weeks ago we were able to go out and see the progress on the building. The second floor slab has been poured and now we are working on finishing the inside of the first story to hopefully use for classes next term starting in July. There is still a need for more funds to come in to complete this building. Please pray with us that the Lord would provide in His time.

A month ago a TRACS representative came to Zambia to meet with us concerning accreditation. It was a busy week filled with meetings but the outcome was very profitable as we were able to get good advice. The application for TRACS has been put on hold for now as we try to better establish ourselves as a college first.

The Library project is still a work in progress! But thankfully I have been able to assign the Dewey Decimal number to the first 2,000 books… only 5,000 more to go! Currently, I have someone helping me stick on the numbers on the books and then we will be able to arrange them in the proper order. It is a long process but I know in the end it will be worth it. Next week there is another visitor coming from the states and he will be able to help me enter books and assign the Dewey Decimal number. It is such a huge blessing to me because I don’t seem to have the time to do it myself!

My work at the college has increased a bit with Phil Hunt leaving and also our Director of Operations. I am now helping a bit with the financial side of things. I have really enjoyed the variation in my work and I also really enjoy the busy side of it! Right now I am trying to prepare things for next term as we will be pre-registering our students in a couple of weeks.

During our mid-term break I was able to work at our camp for a week. It was such an awesome experience that I will never forget. God taught me so much about myself that week and areas that I need to work on. Yet he also used me to lead a girl to the Lord! It was such an awesome privilege. She also attends my church here and this week I will begin a discipleship program with her. The camp itself was a real camping experience we all slept in tents and had all the comforts that that brings!! It was so fun to play games with the teens and also spend time with them in services and studying God’s Word. There were many decisions made for the Lord that week and all the praise goes to Him!

Thank you so much for all your prayers. It is so encouraging to me to know that there are so many back home praying for me!!
