July Update

Just wanted to give an update on whats been going on here...
16 - 20 July we had a block class on the book of Hebrews with Dr. Patterson. We had 47 Pastors and Church leaders attending! I was a little nervous with so many coming and coordinating it all, but it went very smoothly!

Here is a picture of Dr. Patterson teaching...

Then our regular class for our second term started on Monday 23 July. This term we have 7 new students! It is so fun to see how the college is growing! We have accepted some more international students and look forward to them joining us in February of next year!

The construction of our new campus building is coming along! We are working toward getting the roof on our second story before the rains come! God has been so gracious to provide us with the funds to continue building, but we are still in need of $25,000 more! Please pray with us that He will provide soon!

Last week we were without power for 3 days. It made my job here quite boring!! A lot of what I do requires the computer so without electricity i was very bored!! Also since I live on the same property as the church my house also didn't have power! Thankfully God has given me many good friends to help me out! I spent one night with the church secretary and her family so that i could take a hot bath in the morning and have some nice cooked food! I am so thankful for good friends!!

The team from the US arrived this evening. This next week we will be organizing some game times at the playing field with them. Also this coming weekend we are having a time with the teen girls from the surrounding churches to talk about life issues. Please pray for me as i will be on the panel answering questions!!

I think that is all for now!

oh, one more thing... the other night i heard a knock on my door and when i went to answer it this is what i found...

a chicken foot!!

Greetings from Zambia!!

Wow, I can’t believe I have already been home and am back here at my home in Zambia. I am so glad I was able to be home and to see many of you while I was there. I really enjoyed my time at home with my family and friends! Here is a picture of the fam…

Thank you all so much for praying for my traveling, I know God definitely answered your prayers for me! I arrived to the Gatwick airport in London Monday morning and made my connection to Heathrow airport by coach bus with no problems! I was kind of nervous because I had two heavy bags and I was alone, but I made it just fine! Once I reached Heathrow I left my bags and went into London to meet with a friend for a little sightseeing and lunch. I was able to see Buckingham Palace and the British Museum and also get some good coffee!! I got back on the train and headed for the airport to catch my next flight. I arrived in Lusaka Tuesday morning around 730 am a little tired but very thankful to be there. I tried getting on an earlier flight to Ndola, but it didn’t work out so I waited there in Lusaka airport till 1.00 pm for my last flight. But, it was so cold there, ok maybe only 50’ but it was cold to me. I couldn’t believe it!! Since I was flying within the country I was only allowed to take one bag at 20 kg, but I had two bags at 23 kg each! Thankfully they did not charge me for my extra weight!! Amidst all my changing planes and airports and 39 hours of traveling God allowed me to keep all my luggage and everything went so smoothly!!

It’s so good to be back here and reunite with my friends here in Zambia. Our school term is starting on Monday so I am busy working on that. In a couple weeks a group from the States will be coming to help here at the college and the surrounding churches. It will be a good time to help them get to know the people and the ministry here.
