I just wanted to post some pictures for you all to see what i have been doing lately. The first one is of Kadona and Willie. A week and a half ago Sister Felictus passed away. She was Kadona's mother and Willie's grandmother. Willie was one that always came up to visit Tori and me! He was so fun to have around. Now Kadona and Willie are moving to Lusaka!! It was so hard to say goodbye because they probably won't be back to visit!! Please pray for both of them though, they are going to stay with Willie's mom and from what we know she is unsaved. Kadona and Willie have both accepted Christ as their saviour but they need the discipleship! Please pray that they will be able to find a good church nearby that they can attend!!

On Sunday i was able to go to Faith Baptist Church Kakolo. This is a picture of the ladies singing a special.

Sara Steadman was here for the Leadership Conference with her dad.

And these last pictures are from our end of the year Teen activity! we went up to the college house and had a Braii/BBQ and played lots of volleyball!! As you can see our net was a little short!! =)

work permit

i just wanted to give a quick update. i still don't have my work permit, but i was able to get an extension on my visa. so that is a huge praise, now i don't have to leave the country!! please continue to pray that my file for my work permit would be found in lusaka and that it would be processed quickly. thank you all so much for your prayers!!

Caterpillars!!

Last Saturday we had a BBQ, or how they would say here, a Braii. All of the IFM missionaries went over to Tori's house and two of the guest speakers that came for the conference were also there. It was a nice time to just relax after our long week. The only thing i didn't particularly enjoy was the caterpillars!! Tori bought some at the market and decided to serve them at the braii. They are a delicacy here and she thought it would be good for us to try them!! I have attached the pictures so that you can see what they made me eat! First you have to soak them in the water and then you fry them in a pan with oil and onions. When they are done they are very crunchy and dry!! but you can still see their heads!! That part really bothered me, but at least they weren't squishy!!

Leadership Conference

Leadership Conference has already come and gone!! Its amazing how fast it came and then how fast it was over!! The conference started on Monday afternoon with general sessions every night and morning. Then workshops were held throughout the day Tuesday through Friday. I was in charge of the registration and other general stuff throughout the conference. We had approximately 140 people attend the conference!! This years theme was Building a Biblical Home. There was a lot of good material given out to each guest from the workbook and our prayer is that these people will go home and put into practice what they have learned from the conference. During the conference I was able to help a little with the cooking. Each day we provided lunch for 80 people. The picture is of me "helping" stir the Nshima!! It was tough!! and the charcoal was burning my feet!!! The other picture is of the teens who came to help by washing the dishes and serving the water!! It was a very busy week, but worth it all!! It was so awesome to see the way God put everything together!!

Prayer Request

I just wanted to ask for prayer concerning my work permit. My file is still lost in Lusaka and my tourist visa expires on Tuesday 12 December. So what that means is, that I either need to get an extension on my tourist visa or leave the country until my work permit is approved. The problem is I have already extended my tourist visa the maximum amount. On Tuesday I will be going to the immigration office and explaining to them my situation. The lady in Lusaka said that they should extend my tourist visa until my work permit file can be found and processed. Please pray that I will be able to talk to the right people at the immigration office in Kitwe and that they will extend my visa with no problems. Also please continue to pray that my file would be found in Lusaka and that it would be processed soon!!
We are on the last day of our Leadership Conference. It has been a great week!! It is sad that it is over! There were only a few set backs but everything was in God's control and it went according to His plan!! I will write more details next week and try to post some pictures!
Thank you for your prayers!!
